i wonder if i should buy a set of gouache paints

I painted this a while ago, right when I started getting interested in gouache. I was using that brand that was really popular at the time: HIMI Gouache. To be honest, I didn't like it all that much. It wasn't because of the brand itself, but rather the type of paint. If I'm not mistaken, I bought a gouache paint set from the brand Lukas around that same time, and I felt the results were almost identical to the HIMI one. I think the problem was that I was already accustomed to watercolors, so I just couldn't seem to adapt to gouache. I ended up donating the Lukas set, and the HIMI paint eventually dried out, so I threw it away. Since then, I haven't painted with gouache at all.

Today during my lunch break, I came across a video titled How I Use My Gouache and clicked to watch it while I ate. I usually get bored with YouTube videos very easily, but this one really held my attention. I thought this artist's work was absolutely beautiful! She actually made me want to give gouache another try.

She says that her favorite brand is Holbein. I’ve always wanted to test out this brand, but since it’s quite expensive, and given that I hadn't really enjoyed gouache that much in the past, I always felt it would be a waste of money. However, after hearing her speak so highly of the brand, I felt a sudden urge to buy a set and try it out myself. After all this time, I think it’s worth giving it another shot.

I think I’ll wait a little while longer, though, just to see if this is something I really want to do. If I’m still thinking about it a week from now, I’ll go ahead and buy it. I’m not sure if I should just dive straight into that specific brand, or if I should do some research on other options first. If you happen to be someone who knows their stuff when it comes to gouache, please send me a message. I would be incredibly grateful!
